Root Removal

Reasons to consider root removal:

Roots will grow in all directions in search of water, sometimes leading to roots that grow around underground drain, sewer, and irrigation pipes, potentially clogging or crushing them.

Roots can also grow above the surface of your yard and create trip hazards as well as affect your properties curb appeal. This can also make mowing your lawn and gardening more difficult and can sometimes cause damage to your lawnmower if a spinning blade hits the root.

If roots are raising your driveway, patio, or sidewalk, root pruning or partial root removal may be an option. A thorough evaluation of the tree is necessary to determine whether any root removal will harm the tree. Please contact us to further discuss your situation and needs.

After we have ground out the root, we rake the grindings into a pile where the root was previously located. Depending on the size of the roots and depth of the grind, the pile may settle down fairly well in 6 months - 1 year on its own. If the roots were larger, it will take a longer period of time for the pile to decompose and settle down to the same level as the surrounding grade.

If we cut and remove a root or section of roots, we will haul those roots away.

Hauling Away the Grindings:

In addition to root removal, we offer the service of hauling away the grindings. We offer two options for grinding removal and disposal:

Option 1: We will haul off virtually all of the grindings leaving the hole where the root/roots were previously located.

Option 2: Filling in the hold with premium planting soil, compacting the area, and grading it to blend in with the surrounding grade.
